Spacious rooms or cottages
More room, better beds and bathrooms, and often a private sit-out or a view of the trees.
Stay in style
The jungle is the main event, and a luxury resort is where you recover from it: a proper bed after a 5 a.m. start, a good meal, and people who sort things out before you ask. Here is what to expect, and how to choose well.
The idea
Bandhavgarh is not a beach holiday. Even the nicest places here are built around the forest: early mornings, dusty jeeps and wildlife not far from your door. What a luxury resort adds is everything that makes that routine easy.
That means a big, comfortable room you actually look forward to returning to, hot water that works at 4:30 in the morning, a kitchen that can feed you properly before and after a safari, and staff who handle the small things without a fuss, like a packed breakfast, a late checkout or a delayed train.
Luxury here is also about calm. The better properties give you space, quiet evenings and a setting that feels part of the forest rather than a hotel dropped next to it. If you have only a few days and want every one to count, that is worth paying for.
Not sure where in the park to stay? Read our guide to the safari zones and entry gates first, because your gate decides your morning drive.
What you get
Every property is different, but these are the things that usually set luxury stays apart.
More room, better beds and bathrooms, and often a private sit-out or a view of the trees.
A full restaurant with a wider menu, and breakfast or snacks ready for early safari mornings.
Many offer an in-house naturalist and can arrange the jeep and guide, so your day is planned for you.
More space between rooms, bigger grounds, and evenings that are actually peaceful.
Depending on the property: a pool, spa, bonfire evenings or candlelit dinners. Ask what is on offer, since it varies.
Pickup from the station or airport, packed meals and help if plans change.
Always ask for specifics. “Luxury” is used loosely, and what is included can differ a lot from one resort to another.

Smart questions
Because luxury prices are higher, it pays to check the details before you commit.
Meals, taxes, transfers, naturalist fees and safari vehicles are the usual surprises. Get the total in writing.
Ask for the drive time before sunrise, not just the kilometres. Forest roads are slower than a map suggests.
Permits are allotted by the forest department for a set zone and slot. Confirm who books, which zone you will get and whether the jeep and guide are in the price.
Two rooms at the same resort can be very different. Ask for the size, the view and the bathroom, not just the name.
A spa, a pool or a special dinner may be extra. Ask before you assume.
Weather, a delayed train or a park closure can move things. Ask about rescheduling and cancellation terms before you pay.

Plan ahead
Luxury stays fill first, and the best rooms go early. Here is how the year usually breaks down, and how far ahead to book.
March to June
Many people come now for the best sightings. Book two to three months ahead if you can.
Late Dec to early Jan
Rooms fill fast over the holidays. Book two to three months ahead for the best choice.
Rest of the open season
A few weeks ahead is usually enough, though the room you want may go first.
Roughly July to September
Rates often drop, but the core safari zones are generally closed. Check current dates with us first.
Before you compare
Beyond the season, the price usually comes down to a few things.
Make sure you are comparing the same things. A lower room rate with meals and transfers charged separately can end up costing more than a package that looks pricier on paper.
Send us the quotes you have and we will tell you which one is really cheaper.

FAQ
Quick answers about booking your safari, zones, timing and stays. Can’t find what you need? Talk to our team.
There is no single best one, because it depends on what you want from the stay. Some guests care most about room size and privacy, others about food, naturalists or being close to the gate. Tell us your dates, group and budget and we will point you to the one that suits you.
It depends on the season, the room category and what is included. Peak months and holidays cost the most. Ask for a written quote that lists meals, taxes, transfers and safari arrangements, so you can compare properly.
Some packages include the safari jeep and naturalist, and some do not. Safari entry is allotted by the forest department for a set zone and time slot, so always confirm who is booking it and what is in the price.
It can be, especially if you want privacy, good food and a calm setting between early-morning safaris. Ask about private dining and the quietest rooms when you enquire.
For March to June and the late December holidays, two to three months ahead is sensible. For the rest of the season, a few weeks is usually enough, though the room you want may not be free.
Usually yes, as the rooms are more comfortable and the food is better. Check family room options, extra bed charges and how easy it is to get around the property.
